USES:
This medication is an iron supplement used to treat or prevent low blood levels of iron (e.g., for anemia or during pregnancy). Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) helps to improve the absorption of iron from the stomach.
Folic acid is used for preventing and treating low blood levels of folate (folate deficiency), as well as its complications, including “tired blood” (anaemia) and the inability of the bowel to absorb nutrients properly. Folic acid is also used for other conditions commonly associated with folate deficiency, including ulcerative colitis, liver disease, alcoholism, and kidney dialysis.
Folic acid supplementation prevent miscarriage and “neural tube defects,” birth defects such as spina bifida that may occur when the fetus’s spine and back do not close during development.
Cyanocobalamine (Vitamin B12) is a nutrient that helps keep the body’s nerve and blood cells healthy and helps make DNA, the genetic material in all cells. Vitamin B12 also helps prevent a type of anaemia called megaloblasticanemia that makes people tired and weak.
Zinc supplementation prevent low levels of zinc.
