USES:
Acarbose is an alpha glucosidase inhibitor which decreases intestinal absorption of carbohydrates and is
used as an adjunctive therapy in the management of type 2 diabetes. Metformin is an antihyperglycemic
agent of the biguanide class. This combinationis used to control high blood glucose levels in patients
with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Patients are advised to maintain a strict exercise and diet regimen
along with this medicine to get the best possible effect.
